Most combination padlocks fail outdoors for one reason: grit and salt water get into the wheels and the dial stops moving freely. The CP50/ATLS adds a special weather protective wheel cover to keep the mechanism clear, and the TPE body cover gives a secure grip with cold or gloved hands. That protection is why it clears 312 hours of salt spray testing — over 50% more than the standard CP range. The 4-wheel dial is fully recodable with 10,000 combinations, and the shackle is stainless steel throughout.
